If you feel disappointed with your weight loss so far, stick close, as in what follows we will tell you more about a diet which can help you efficiently lose extra pounds for good. You probably know a lot about various short or long-term diets which can address different needs people have, when selecting their weight loss programs, but what you may not be aware of is that certain diets can involve serious health risks and even cause people more or less regained pounds, when they ends their diets. However, in what follows we are going to discuss about the high carb diet, which distinguishes from diets like the Zone or the Atkins diet, mainly because it is based on a high consumption of carbohydrates.

Generally, the low carb diets have to do with carbohydrate restriction; more precisely, if you are a woman, you don’t have to consume more than 1,300 calories a day, whilst if you’re a man, your calorie intake should be restricted to 1,700 a day. Unfortunately, low carb diets lead to worrying health conditions like heart attacks and strokes, which is something dieters surely won’t want to happen to them, when being on a diet. On the other hand, a high carb diet means eating a variety of foods which, aside from making meals more interesting, also provide the body with plenty of nutrients which are vital, when boosting the body with energy and supporting its important functions.

  • High Carbohydrate Foods

As the name implies, a high carb diet is based on consuming high carbohydrate foods. You should know that carbs usually are divided into simple carbohydrates or complex carbohydrates. However, among the foods rich in carbohydrates, we can mention the following: white bread, pancake; grains and cereals like rice, beans; vegetables like squash, corn, sweet potatoes; fruits like apples, bananas, pears, apricots, plums; dairy products such as plain rice milk and fruit yogurt and other foods like pizza, macaroni, lasagna and pudding.

  • How does a high carb diet work?

Well, basically a high carb diet diet is high in carbohydrates and low in fat, which is why our bodies come to burn carbs, when producing energy. Generally, a low-carbohydrate diet is based on burning fat, due to the fact that carbohydrates come in insufficient amounts in the body. A diet which reduces the fat intake is different, as the body will burn carbs and thus, even if consumed in excess, they won’t get to be converted into fat deposits.
